B.A. Experimental Psychology

I gained an interest in experimental psychopathology during my undergraduate studies. My interest in trauma-related phenomena led me to pursue my MSc. dissertation with Dr. Michelle Moulds at UNSW, Australia which was entitled ‘Modifying intrusive memory appraisals in depression: impact on intrusion symptomatology, cognitive avoidance and depressed mood.’ With a particular interest in the cognitions surrounding intrusive memories, I was drawn to the trans-diagnostic nature of investigations in EPACT.

D.Phil. Research Aims

I will be investigating imagery and mood phenomena in bipolar disorder with the intention to inform novel models regarding intrusions in bipolar disorder (see Holmes, Geddes, Colom & Goodwin, 2008, BRAT). I am interested in the utility of cognitive therapy in the treatment of this illness.
